OPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 Date Announced, Check Official Notice at opsc.gov.in

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has officially released the date for the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Preliminary Examination 2024. As per the latest notification, the OPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 will be conducted on October 12, 2025. Candidates who are preparing for this prestigious examination can check the detailed notice on the official website – opsc.gov.in.

Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The preliminary examination will consist of two compulsory objective-type papers (Paper I and Paper II), each carrying 200 marks. Both papers will include multiple-choice questions with four alternatives for each question.

OPSC has also confirmed the negative marking scheme:

• For every wrong answer, 0.33 marks (one-third of the total marks assigned) will be deducted.
• Certain questions will have inbuilt negative marking, where different marks will be allotted based on the most appropriate or less appropriate answer.

It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both papers. If a candidate is absent in either paper, he or she will be disqualified from evaluation.

OPSC Civil Services Selection Process

The recruitment process for Odisha Civil Services comprises three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination
2. Mains Examination
3. Interview/Personality Test

Candidates must qualify each stage to move to the next.

OPSC Civil Services Mains 2023 Result Declared

Along with the exam date announcement, OPSC has also declared the OCS Mains 2023 result. A total of 806 candidates have qualified and will now undergo document verification and personality tests starting from September 6, 2025, at the OPSC office in Cuttack.

The Mains Exam 2023 was held from April 19 to April 27, 2025, for 399 vacancies under Group A and Group B services. As per the pay scale:

• Group A posts offer a salary of ₹56,100.
• Group B posts offer a salary of ₹44,900.
